Sukh Sunehrhe on Paired with Khem Khazana

Do you sell Sukh Sunehrhe as a standalone book?

Yes — Sukh Sunehrhe is sold as a standalone book, at $15.00 AUD. You do not have to buy the two-book set to get it.

The set exists as a separate option: Sukh Sunehrhe + Khem Khazana – Paperback Edition at $28.00 AUD. Buying both books individually costs $30.00, so the set saves you $2.00. Below is every buying route with the arithmetic shown.

Every way to buy it

What you want Product Price (AUD)
Sukh Sunehrhe only Sukh Sunehrhe $15.00
Khem Khazana only Khem Khazana – Paperback Edition $15.00
Both, bought separately Two orders $30.00
Both, as the set Sukh Sunehrhe + Khem Khazana $28.00

The set saves $2.00 — about 7%. That is a modest saving, so the decision is genuinely about which books you want, not about the discount.

All three are in stock at the time of writing. The live count sits on each product page and updates with every order.

Which should you buy

There are only two situations, and they resolve cleanly.

Buy Sukh Sunehrhe alone if you already own Khem Khazana. A large number of readers do — Khem Khazana has sold over 1,500 copies, and Sukh Sunehrhe was written specifically as the follow-up for those readers. There is no reason to buy the first book twice for a $2 saving.

Buy the set if you own neither. For $2 less than two separate orders you get both books in one shipment, which also means one lot of postage rather than two. On an international order that is the larger saving by some distance.

If you are undecided, buy the set. The two books are companions rather than alternatives, and readers who start with one generally want the other.

Reading order: Khem Khazana first

These are not two unrelated books. Khem Khazana came first; Sukh Sunehrhe is the second book, written in response to how the first was received. The author says so in the opening line of the Sukh Sunehrhe description:

“Thanks to the encouragement and inspiration that came from the love and response you gave my first book, Khem Khazana, I present to you the second book, Sukh Sunehrhe.”

You can read either on its own — neither depends on the other for sense. But if you are starting fresh, read Khem Khazana first. It sets out the idea; Sukh Sunehrhe continues it.

What is in each book

Khem Khazana — “The Treasure of Happiness”

A collection of 125+ poems and articles, 231 pages in the paperback edition. It asks how a person reaches khem khazana, the treasure of happiness, while dealing with life at four levels: mental, family, social and religious.

It was published in 2023 by Khalsa Phulwari, ISBN 978-0-646-88125-6, and has sold over 1,500 copies. The Google Books record files it under Poetry and Self-Help, which is a fair description of what it does — the poems carry the feeling and the accompanying articles do the reasoning.

Sukh Sunehrhe — “Messages of Happiness”

The second collection, continuing the same theme. The publisher’s summary describes it as a book of happiness intended to bring “a positive change in your life.”

These are books for adults

Worth saying plainly, because most of the Khalsa Phulwari catalogue is for children. Sukh Sunehrhe and Khem Khazana are not children’s books. They are Punjabi-language poetry and reflective essays for adult readers, written in Gurmukhi. If you are buying for a child, the children’s book range is a different section entirely.

Who these books suit

A reader comfortable in written Gurmukhi. These are not learner texts. Someone who reads Punjabi conversationally but rarely reads it in print will manage, though slowly — the poetry in particular uses a more literary register than everyday speech.

Someone going through something. The framing across both books is practical rather than devotional. The four levels named in Khem Khazana — mental, family, social, religious — are the ordinary places difficulty actually turns up, and the essays address them as problems to be worked through rather than endured.

A reader who wants short sittings. Because both books are collections rather than continuous arguments, a poem and its accompanying article can be read in a few minutes and put down. That suits readers who do not have an hour, which is most people.

As a gift for a Punjabi-reading parent or grandparent. This is one of the more common reasons people buy them. There is not a great deal of contemporary Punjabi writing of this kind published outside India, and a book written by a Punjabi author living in Australia lands differently for a diaspora reader than something imported.

About the author

Both books are by Parminder Singh, known widely as Bhai Parminder Singh Australia — and the founder of Khalsa Phulwari itself.

He is based in Australia and holds a Master’s degree in Networking, working in IT. He trained in classical kirtan under Prof Paramjot Singh during his school years and plays violin, keyboard, guitar and traditional stringed instruments. He has performed kirtan across Canada, the USA, Europe, the UK, Asia, India and Australia, and produces the Swar Samund series alongside his written work.

That background matters to what these books are. They are not a publisher’s commission — they are written by a working kirtaniya and poet about the thing his kirtan is also about. You can read more on his own site.

Buying from India

Both titles are also sold on our India store, priced in rupees.

Product India (₹) Australia (AUD)
Sukh Sunehrhe ₹299 $15.00
Khem Khazana ₹299 $15.00
Two-book set ₹599 $28.00

If you are ordering within India, buy the two books separately. Two individual copies come to ₹598, while the set is ₹599 — so the set is a rupee more, and you lose nothing by ordering them individually. The set is only a saving on the Australian store.

Order from whichever store is closer to you. Shipping from Australia to India costs considerably more than the $2 the set saves.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sukh Sunehrhe available on its own, or only in the bundle?

On its own, at $15.00 AUD, or ₹299 on the India store. The bundle is an additional option, not the only one.

How much do I save by buying the set?

$2.00 on the Australian store — $28.00 rather than $30.00. On the India store there is no saving; ₹599 for the set against ₹598 for two separate copies.

Do I need to read Khem Khazana first?

No. Each book stands alone. But Khem Khazana was written first and Sukh Sunehrhe follows it, so that is the better order if you are buying both.

Are these books in Punjabi or English?

Punjabi, written in Gurmukhi. They are not bilingual and not translated.

Are they suitable for children?

No. They are poetry and reflective essays for adult readers. For children, see the children’s books collection.

Who is the author?

Parminder Singh — kirtaniya, poet and founder of Khalsa Phulwari. Khem Khazana was his first book, Sukh Sunehrhe his second.

How long is Khem Khazana?

231 pages in the paperback edition, containing more than 125 poems and articles.

Can I get a hardcover?

Both are paperback. The listings say “Paperback Edition” for that reason.
