What’s actually in it
The book follows a child through Naam Simran framed as a journey rather than an instruction. Every page carries both Punjabi and English, so the story works completely in English while the Gurmukhi sits alongside it.
The publisher’s description puts the audience plainly: it is for “a parent looking to encourage your child to do Simran” and equally for “an educator looking to add some diversity to your classroom bookshelf.”
Who it suits
Children aged four to about seven, and particularly children in households where Punjabi is not the spoken language. Because the English carries the full story, a parent who does not read Gurmukhi can read the whole book aloud without preparation.
It is not a Gurmukhi teaching book. If your child is ready to learn the script, Akhran Di Udaari ($20.00 AUD) is the primer — it includes English transliteration throughout and is designed to be used by a parent who does not read Punjabi.
Shipping and delivery
We ship to virtually any address in the world. Shipping is calculated by weight, and the exact cost appears at checkout once you enter a delivery address.
Delivery time depends on destination and the option you choose at checkout. If you need the book by a specific date — a birthday, a Naam Karan, the start of a term — contact us first and we will tell you honestly whether it will arrive in time.
If it shows as sold out
Three options, in the order we would suggest them.
Ask us when it is back. Email or message us and we will tell you the actual restock date rather than a guess.
Buy the closest alternative. Meet the Khalsa Princesses ($18.00 AUD) is also Punjabi-English bilingual, at the same price, and suits a similar age range.
Buy something that fills the gap now. The Khalsa Phulwari Colouring Book ($14.99 AUD) — 48 pages, from age two — works while you wait, and children use both together.
Buying it as a gift
Three things worth knowing before you order it for someone else.
Order earlier than you think. Weight-based international shipping is not express by default. For a Naam Karan or a birthday, allow more time than the checkout estimate suggests, or contact us and we will give you a realistic date.
Write in it. A picture book given for an occasion and inscribed with the date becomes a keepsake. The same book with a blank flyleaf is just a book. It costs nothing and it is the thing gift-givers most often skip.
Check whether the family already has it. It is a common gift among Sikh families in English-speaking countries, which means duplication happens. One question beforehand avoids it.
Frequently asked questions
Is My Big Naam Adventure in stock right now?
Yes at the time this page was last updated. The product page shows the live count and updates with every order — trust that over this page.
How much does it cost?
$18.00 AUD. All prices in our shop are in Australian dollars.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, to virtually any address worldwide. Cost is weight-based and shown at checkout.
Is the whole book bilingual, or just parts of it?
Bilingual throughout — Punjabi and English together, not an English book with a few Punjabi words.
What age is it for?
Four and above. Below four, use the colouring book instead, which is rated from age two.
Can I order several copies for a class or Gurdwara school?
Yes. For bulk orders get in touch before ordering so we can confirm quantity and shipping.
Can I return it if it isn’t right?
Yes, within our published returns window. Check the exchange and refund policy for the current terms and process.
Is there a digital or audiobook version?
No — print only at present. If a read-along version would be useful to you, tell us; we track these requests and they shape what we produce next.
Will my child need help reading it?
At four or five, yes — it is a read-aloud book. From about six a confident English reader can manage the English text alone, though the Punjabi will still need an adult or an older sibling.
Does it explain what Naam Simran actually is?
It shows rather than defines. The idea comes through the story instead of a formal explanation, which is why it works for children who have never encountered the concept before.
